The Journey to the B-Swimming Diploma

The B-Diploma is the next step after the A-Diploma. This is where a swimmer grows from safe and confident to technically strong. It is the stage where strokes are refined and the swimmer truly feels at home in the deep competition pool.

The B-Diploma is taken in the competition pool at the Dolphin level. The requirements build logically on the A-Diploma, with more technique, more endurance and more independence.

1. Treading Water

Enter the water using a forward roll and tread water for 1.5 minutes. Each swimmer may hold a flotation aid for 20 seconds.

2. Swimming Underwater

Swim under a lane marker or swim noodle without touching it. A good test of control and body position.

3. Breaststroke

At a calm pace, where arms and legs remain extended and fully close during the glide phase.

4. Simple Backstroke

Proper coordination of legs, arms and breathing. Feet just below the surface during the powerful phase. Head lifted to face the ceiling with a long neck and relaxed shoulders.

5. Backstroke, Legs

Kick from the hips with relaxed feet and face lifted to the ceiling. The pace stays steady and even.

6. Backstroke, Arms

Long arms are lifted from the water by the pinky finger and re-enter the water, followed by a powerful underwater phase.

7. Front Crawl, Legs

A constant flutter kick from the hips with relaxed, soft feet.

8. Front Crawl, Arms

Enter the water with fingertips first, pull powerfully toward the thigh and bring the hand back above the water.

9. Starting Dive

Powerful push-off from the starting block, head between arms, body stretched in arrow position and a tight entry into the water. Fingers, arms, head, body and legs form one straight line.

10. Squat Dive Followed by Swimming

Stand ready in squat position, push off firmly and dive into the water like an arrow, then continue swimming.

The DREAMSSS Approach

We work in small groups, with plenty of personal attention and clear explanations. Every movement is built up in steps, so swimmers gain trust in their technique before the pace goes up. No pressure, just clarity.

Conclusion

The B-Diploma is a natural progression from the A-Diploma. Ten clear elements, plenty of practice and calm guidance. At DREAMSSS we help swimmers refine their technique so they leave the competition pool with confidence, ready for what comes next.
